Feedback Strategies

This presentation is based on a case study for an online secondary class. In the case study, I am asked to develop "best practices" for teachers who are new to online teaching, and to target the development of feedback strategies.

  1. Stephanie, I feel that this presentation is incredibly important to help teachers give feedback to students through multiple online mediums. I think that the most important factor in this is creating the same type of dialogue that you would have in a face-to-face interaction. Teachers may tend to feel that feedback is only limited to grading, but for online courses, feedback needs to be an open dialogue for any aspect of the course.

My favorite part of this presentation deals with making time for feedback. Timing is important and, like you say, timing can affect a student's experience throughout the course. Providing timely and constructive feedback is definitely a requirement for all online courses.
