This week is more of a plan than a reflection (hopefully that's okay). This year, I've been working with the media specialist to do a Tech Tuesday for teachers --teachers have to have 3 CEUs of digital credit. I've led sessions about Twitter, PearDeck, Google Docs, Padlet, and Canvas. I have shared links to Adobe Spark and EdPuzzle, but no one has told me whether they've used them or not. While the sessions are short, my colleague and I are seeing some teachers use what we're sharing. So far, our faculty Twitter use is going up (I've been able to scam some Yearbook pictures from them, actually!). But...not so much on the more active learning programs. And none of them have had students creating with technology, except for writing in Google Docs and making PowerPoints (blech!)
So, I made this BINGO game to help the staff branch out and review the tech that I've presented on so far. Here's the game card:
So, here is my question....do the activities feel like they are fun, yet challenging? I don't do all of these things myself, so this would definitely challenge me -but I have done most of these activities at some point during a semester, so they are doable.
My colleague and I plan to roll this out next week so any advice would be helpful!
Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great idea to get teachers infusing technology into their classes. I like that you are giving them direct tools and how to use them. I often think we are given tools, but find it challenging to figure out how to use them in your classroom. Is there an award for those who get bingo?
I am interested to see how many teachers participate in this!
